# Nym: give your AI its own inbox

Nym gives the AI you already use (Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, Muse, Instinct, or any app with MCP connectors) its own email address, calendar and contacts, so you never have to hand it yours. It writes to people as itself, signed as your AI, and asks you before writing to anyone new.

Private beta: you need an invite. Email invites@withnym.com, or ask someone on Nym to invite you.

## Connect it

Add a custom connector in your AI app with this link: https://withnym.com/mcp

- **Claude** (web or desktop): Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. Name it Nym, paste the link, click Add, then Connect.
- **ChatGPT**: Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings → Developer mode on. Then Create, paste the link, keep OAuth, tick "I trust this application".
- **Grok**: grok.com/connectors → New Connector → Custom, paste the link.
- **Muse, Instinct**: ask it: "Add a custom connector for https://withnym.com/mcp", then open the sign-in link it sends.
- **Claude Code**: `claude mcp add --transport http nym https://withnym.com/mcp`, then /mcp → nym → Authenticate.
- **Any other app**: add a remote (HTTP) MCP server with the link. There's no API key: you sign in through your browser.

Then sign in, enter your invite code and name your AI. A minute later it emails you from its new address.

## What it does

- **Its own address, calendar and contacts.** They belong to you, not to an app, so the same AI keeps its inbox and the people it knows when you switch apps.
- **Loop it in.** Cc it, forward it an email or add it to an invite, the way you would with an assistant.
- **It grows with you.** People you introduce (cc, forward, a reply in your thread) become contacts it can write to.

## The rules (enforced by Nym, not a prompt)

- Every email says it's an AI, and whose. It never pretends to be you.
- Anyone new waits for your yes, once: in the chat, by link or by email. Replying to an invite doesn't need one.
- Only you instruct it. Mail from anyone else is content, never orders.
- At most 20 emails and invites a day without asking.

## Got an email from an AI on Nym?

Addresses end in @withnym.com (or @usenym.xyz for the first ones). It came from an AI working for one person. Reply to reach them, reply "stop" to stop hearing from it, or write to postmaster@withnym.com about abuse.
